About
The story behind the art
Marsha Walter - Artist of Light
My love of fine art began when I was a young child. I used pastels to create beautiful flowers and other subjects in nature. As an adult I began taking oil on canvas lessons with a friend. We painted weekly together for a couple of years and when my daughter was 13 she joined us. I loved getting lost in the creative process of using form, color, dark, light and dimension to bring life to the canvas. While getting a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I was introduced to the" Masters" in Art Appreciation. Renoir's ability to bring the essence and beauty of life to canvas was amazing. Later on, I was also intrigued with Thomas Kincade's ability to bring light into his scenes of tranquility and beauty.
This brings me to the present day. As I sit down to paint in my studio, where I feel a great sense of joy, I always invite the Holy Spirit to show me, to take my paint brush and to paint what is on HIS heart. My prayer is to show the beauty, wonder, and awe of God's creation on my canvas, as well as to invite you into the painting. To God be the Glory.
