I painted “Sage Angel” when I was encountering a great deal of stress over the state of our country.  As I prayed during the early morning hours at first light, I looked up to see this angel formed out of the sagebrush.  Two scriptures came to mind, “pray without ceasing,” and a Psalm of David “lift up your eyes to the hills for help, for my help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth”
